St. Johann Basilica – In-Depth Structural Inspection

Built in the 18th century, the Basilica of St. Johann in Saarbrücken is one of the region’s most significant Baroque structures and stands as a defining testament to historical architectural heritage. To ensure its safety and long-term preservation, wpw conducted an in-depth structural inspection in accordance with VDI 6200.

The focus was on evaluating structural stability, traffic and operational safety, and the durability of safety-critical components. Existing structural engineering documentation was compared with the current condition of the structure, discrepancies were documented, and, based on this, recommendations were developed for necessary renovation and retrofitting measures.

With its in-depth expertise in structural engineering, wpw combines a responsible approach to historic buildings with forward-looking planning to ensure the long-term preservation of valuable structures.
